We wanted to post the note regarding a recent article around the use of the RHDF
We have closely monitored the status of the Race Horse Development Fund (RHDF) and have directly asked the Massachusetts Gaming Commission and the state’s Horse Race Committee (HRC) to escrow the approximately $20 million that is currently in that fund for use in thoroughbred racing. The 2011 law that established the RHDF was intended as a funding source to support and promote thoroughbred racing purses, health and welfare benefits for retired horsemen. We are working to restore live thoroughbred racing in Massachusetts and encourage all horsemen and fans of live thoroughbred racing to write to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to urge them to escrow those funds.
