Obituary
Seekonk – Gerald A. Souto, 83, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Born in Seekonk, Gerry made his home in Revere, Massachusetts for over twenty years until moving back to Seekonk two years ago and was a son of the late John and Mary (Stevens) Souto.Gerry had a passion for horse racing, and he worked for many years at many of the region’s former horse racetracks as a very successful horse trainer. He loved all sports and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Gerry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his sisters. He always looked forward to their get-togethers.
He leaves three daughters, Deborah Bowyer and her husband, Kevin, of Seekonk, Lorraine Lynch of Pawtucket, and Gina Dineen and her husband, Thomas, of Pawtucket; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three siblings, Isabel DeClercq and her husband, Raymond, Beverly Cote and her husband, Roland, all of Seekonk and Robert Souto and his wife, Lynn, of Pawtucket, and many nieces and nephews. He was father-in-law of the late Edward Lynch and the brother of the late Raymond Souto.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Services on Thursday, June 13th at 4:30 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. VISITATION will begin immediately following the services from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
