After an intense years-long campaign to secure the future of thoroughbred racing in Massachusetts, the NEHBPA announced today that its efforts to pass sports betting legislation and a more robust breeding bill succeeded in the final moments of the legislative session.

NEHBPA Urges Massachusetts Senate to Pass Sports Betting Legislation with a Mobile Wagering App to Bolster Racing
Will Create Jobs, Revitalize Farms and Economic Development. The New England Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association is urging state senators to support passage of the long-anticipated sports betting legislation that passed the House last year. The current bill includes language that would help support development of a new thoroughbred racetrack and equine center by allow wagering on smart phones for live thoroughbred racing.
