As a reminder to our NEHPBA members, you may qualify for many different Health and Welfare Benefits offered through the Association. Benefits include eyeglasses, medical expenses, old age assistance, death benefits, benevolence and scholarship assistance. The NEHBPA is the only thoroughbred horsemen’s organization in Massachusetts with the funding and authority to offer benefits and a benevolence package to horsemen.

Some example of benefits:

Old Age Assistance increased previous allotment from $175 to $250.

MEDEX Supplement Program increasing the current monthly allotment benefit from $125 to $200 and increasing the annual allotment cap from $1,500 to $2,400

Health Insurance Plan increasing the current premium subsidy from 67% to 70%. We are looking to increase the coverage even more

Eyeglass Plan to $200 per year to each eligible participant

Reminder participants are eligible for up to $10,000 in Life Insurance Premiums based on age, including spouse and racing status

The NEHBPA Board of Directors encourages all member trainers to contact the NEHBPA office to apply for any of the benefit plans for which you may be eligible.
